About us
Staying Put Core Service We know that most older and disabled people prefer to stay in their own homes, as their needs change. This is what you tell us, and with the right advice, support and assistance to keep your property maintained and adapted for your needs, you can remain safely in your home. Our purpose is to provide impartial advice, support and practical assistance to people over 60 and to disabled people of any age, to enable you to “stay put” to be independent and to enjoy warmth, security and safety within your own home. If you are aged over 60, or disabled, we can provide a full survey, assessment and technical service to help you manage repair work and adaptations to your home, as well as offering our help in finding the funds to pay for these works. We always use reputable building contractors to carry out the work on your home and we inspect the work thoroughly before you have to pay for it. We can help you with applying for local authority grants or loans that you may be eligible for. We can also help you apply for funding from benevolent sources that you may be entitled to. We also provide a number of complementary services, which are all focused on helping you 'stay put' at home. Further information can be found on the ' Services' page.
Where we work and what we can do We can help you if you live within South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Council areas. We have already assisted hundreds of residents to remain independent and in their own homes. These are the services we provide and how much they cost:
The service charge is £15 an hour plus the cost of materials used. If you live elsewhere in Oxfordshire, or outside the county, or if you need help that we cannot provide, we will always try to provide you with details of other organisations that may be able to help. How does the service work? Anyone is able to contact us to discuss our service including the individual, relatives, friends, carers or professionals (such as Occupational Therapists, Care Managers etc). We will arrange to visit you in your home to discuss your needs. How do I pay for the cost of the work? We will help you to identify ways in which the work can be paid for including grants, charitable funding, savings/loans and equity release. More information on these options can be found on the main Staying Put website by clicking here.
