About Us

Established over 13 years ago, North Tyneside Staying Put is a Home Improvement Agency offering valuable assistance to older people to carry out repairs, improvements and adaptations to their properties.

We work in partnership with North Tyneside Council and Social Services. Over the years we have assisted thousands of residents living in North Tyneside to remain in their own homes. The services we offer are:

Staying Put Core Service

The Staying Put team can assist with medium scale repairs aimed at making your property safe, warm and watertight. In many cases these jobs can be funded by a local authority grant. If there is no grant available, the staff will tell you about the different options that are available to pay for the work, including charitable money and private finance. The type of work we help with includes:

• Doors and windows repairs/replacement.
• Roof repairs and re-roofing.
• Gutters and rainwater goods.
• Pathways.
• Damp proof courses.
• Electrical rewiring.

We can also assist with large-scale repairs to properties which do not currently meet the government ‘fitness standard’. This type of work is generally carried out in conjunction with the local authority grant department.

Home Security Service

The Security Service is to help older homeowners living in North Tyneside to implement security measures in their home. The security measures available from this service are

• External security lights.
• Burglar alarms.
• Reinforced external doors.

In many cases these jobs can be funded by a local authority grant.
