How we are funded

The agency is funded by a variety of different national and local bodies:

  • Newcastle and Gateshead local authorities.
  • Bridging NewcastleGateshead (Office of Communities & Local Government).
  • The Quality of Life Partnership.
  • Gateshead Carers’ Association.
  • Help the Aged.
  • Link Up Gateshead .

If you decide to use the Staying Put service you would need to pay a fee for the technical service provided. The fee is usually 10% of the nett cost of the work that you have carried out. If you receive a local authority grant it is possible that some or all of the fee may be covered by the grant.

The Small Repairs Service charge a fee of £10 per job, but you must then pay for the cost of any materials used.

The Gardening Service is free of charge but asks for a contribution, if you can afford it.
