  About Us

Established over 13 years ago, Anchor Staying Put Newcastle & Gateshead is a Home Improvement Agency offering valuable assistance to older homeowners to carry out repairs, improvements and adaptations to their properties.

We work in partnership with Newcastle City Council, Gateshead Council, Bridging NewcastleGateshead, Quality of Life Partnership and Link Up Gateshead. The services we offer are:

Staying Put Core Service

The Staying Put team can assist with repairs aimed at making your property safe, warm and watertight. The type of work we help with includes:

•  Doors and windows repairs/replacement.
•  Roof repairs and re-roofing.
•  Gutters and rainwater goods.

•  Pathways.

•  Damp proof courses.
•  Electrical rewiring.

We can also assist with repairs which do not currently meet the government decent homes standard. This type of work is generally carried out in conjunction with the local authority.

We provide assistance with the whole process of carrying out repairs. We will:

•  Visit you in your own home

•  Carry out a technical assessment to identify any work that is required

•  Identify available funding options

•  Arrange a start date and oversee the work whilst on site

•  Carry out a final inspection of the work

•  Liaise with the contractor throughout the defects liability period if required

We are aware that funding the repair work is a major source of concern for many older homeowners so we can explore a range of funding options depending on personal circumstances and the nature and cost of the work. These options may include local authority loans and grants, lifetime mortgages, private and charitable funding or a combination of these.
