  About Us

Anchor Staying Put Crewe & Nantwich has provided Home Improvement Agency services in Crewe & Nantwich since July 1995. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for older, disabled or vulnerable residents within the Crewe & Nantwich Borough. We do this by providing advice and practical assistance with improvements, repairs and adaptations to their homes. We aim to support people in remaining active, secure and independent with a sense of well being within their own safe and well maintained home environment. We fully support the concept of healthy aging.

To ensure that customers are offered a holistic, knowledgeable and professional service beyond the scope of our own services, we have developed excellent and close practical working partnerships with Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council, Cheshire County Council and the key local service providers who can provide additional support to our customers. The agency actively encourages safety and security in the home, aiming to reduce accidents and incidents by promoting the prevention of falls, fire, crime (and the fear of crime). We offer the following services; -

Adaptations – Property alterations to meet customer’s health and mobility needs. Work ranges from full bedroom and bathroom extensions to level access showers and installation of equipment. Mainly funded through Local Authority grants or Cheshire County Council.

Renovations & Repairs – Medium and larger scale property repairs and renovations to maintain homes and prevent further disrepair. Aim is to make properties safe, warm, weatherproof and up to the latest regulations and standards. Funded from a variety of sources including loans and equity release as Local Authority repair grants no longer exist.

Home Sure Loan Scheme Administrative support and practical on-site assistance with repairs and improvements funded through a variety of loans and equity release schemes from various sources.

Computer Aided Design Work CAD Plans and drawing service to support larger work to customers’ homes. Cost is 4% of pre-vat finished work costs.

Safe At Home Advisory Service Dedicated Caseworker home visiting service. Supports individual customer’ choices and needs. Offers support, advice, practical suggestions and links, signposting to other support services, interest and activity groups in the home and in the community. This service is free.

PATCH– Prevention Of Accidents To Children At Home – provides and fits safety equipment in local homes. Operates through referral scheme with the Local authority. Some work funded by Local Authority.

Home Safety & Small Repairs Service – Includes free home safety checks and prioritises small repairs promoting home safety and security. Customers pay for materials and £10 per hour for labour. Two hours maximum work on site. Work ranges from changing a light bulb, small plumbing jobs, increasing security and locks, to small brickwork and joinery jobs. The service supplies and fits “keysafes” at £20 materials and £10 labour. We compared this with local commercial providers and found that they charge in excess of our costs up to £97 for the same key safe fitting service. We consider this shows our service to be extremely good value for money, especially at a standard rate of only £10 per hour compared to independent contractors.
