Welcome to our Website, I hope you will find it useful. At Anchor Staying Put – Craven we have a dedicated team who are fully committed to delivering a higher quality of service to all of our customers and assisting the Council in making Craven a better place to live.

Traditionally older and/or disabled people have been given limited choice in the services available to them. This has been a key consideration in planning our business. We are focused on promoting customer independence, increasing customer choice, and removing existing barriers.

About us / who are we?

Established over 12 years ago, Anchor Staying Put Craven is a Home Improvement Agency. The agency works in partnership with Craven District Council, North Yorkshire Social Services and Supporting People.

Anchor Staying Put – Craven is one of 47 agencies managed by Anchor Trust. The agency employs six members of staff and is one of the smaller agencies.

We are a not-for-profit charitable Home Improvement Agency. As such we aim to continually improve our services to meet the demands of our customers, by continual investment in the services available.

Through the operation of the Craven office, thousands of residents within the Craven District have been assisted in having work carried out on their property, thus enabling them to continue to reside in their own homes.

Our customers demand a trouble free, trustworthy service, which it is our aim to deliver.

How can we help you?

We provide valuable services for our custoomers, these include;

Advice Service - A reliable confidential advice service
Repairs - Medium scale repairs aimed at making the property safe, warm, and watertight. In many cases these jobs can be funded by a local authority grant.
Renovations – Large scale repairs to a property aimed at reversing major disrepair and bringing it up to the Government Decent Homes Standard.

Small Repairs Service – Carries out small repairs for people living in Craven.

Minor Adaptations – Carries out minor adaptations e.g. installation of handrails, grab rails, forming ramps etc.

Home Maintenance Scheme – Provide repairs, security, energy efficiency, security and home health and safety inspections and prioritisation.

Disabled Facilities Grant – administering the grants on behalf of Craven District Council to assist disabled people carry out adaptation work to enable them to live more independently in their home. Click here for more information on process.

Source Funding - where Local Authority funding is unavailable we will attempt to source alternative funding on the customers behalf.

By providing these services we aim to achieve a number of goals for our customers;

We are focused on promoting customer independence, increasing customer choice and removing existing barriers.

How much does it cost?

Anchor Staying Put – Craven currently receives varying fees which are dependant on the type of works carried out. At present these fees are as follows;

• 15% Grant aided work.

• 10% Private work.

• 10% Home Appreciation Loan.

• 8% Repair Assistance Scheme.

All fees are charged only when works are carried out .

There is no call out fee or labour charge for the home maintenance service. We will only charge you for the materials used.
